FAQs

I’m happy with my practice, why do I need to move?

The new centre is being built to replace the existing practice. The new centre will help with the growing demand and ageing population in Hounslow. The larger, more modern centre will provide an improved, more timely service for patients.

When is the temporary move to Stamford Brook Centre?

The anticipated date for the relocation of all GP services is 17 April 2023. This date will be confirmed in March 2023, and patients will be updated via letter.

How will I know where I need to go?

The address for the temporary relocation site, Chiswick Health Centre @ Stamford Brook, is:

14-16 Stamford Brook Avenue, Chiswick, London, W6 0YD

What will the travel and parking arrangements be at Chiswick Health Centre @ Stamford Brook?

Unfortunately, there is no parking available for patients. However, Stamford Brook Centre is a 15-minute walk or 10-minute bus ride from the current Chiswick Health Practice. There are three buses that stop within a 3-minute walk of the new location: 94, 237, 272. It is a 3-minute walk from Stamford Brook underground station, which is served by the District Line.

Will the process for contacting my GP and booking appointments change?

The current process of contacting your practice and booking appointments will remain the same. The doctors and nurses will also relocate to Stamford Brook centre so you can continue to receive care from the same health professionals. You can also book appointments online which you will be able to do in the same way.

Do I have to travel to Stamford Brook to collect my prescription?

No – you can register to collect a prescription at any Pharmacy in Chiswick, this is something you can do now. Talk to your GP practice and this can be set up electronically so you don’t need to go to the practice.

How long will this temporary relocation be for?

The temporary relocation should be for around two years, based on the anticipated length of time it will take to build the new health centre on Fisher’s Lane.

If you are currently registered at Chiswick Health Practice, West4GPs or Chiswick Family Doctor’s Practice you will receive a patient letter with all the information you need about where to go.
